                            Judge:  Mrs. Margorie Saunders

I was delighted to be invited to judge the Irish Wolfhound Club Championship show.  I really do feel honoured.  My thanks go to all the Exhibitors for such a splendid entry.  The Committee worked like ‘Trojans’ on a hot sunny day.  The Cups were magnificent and the show went like clockwork - thanks to the Stewards and helpers.

I was very pleased with my winners and many who were unplaced would have taken top honours at lesser shows.  I feel that Irish Wolfhounds in Ireland are still in very good, caring hands.  The hounds were truly typical, sound and has splendid temperaments, they were fit and in good condition - a credit to their owners.

I do feel however that it would be remiss of me not to mention a couple of problems I hope will not be permanent:- white feet, although not a fault is really disconcerting and detracts from the over-all picture.  Upright shoulders - always a problem.  Movement on the whole was very good with just a few going ‘close behind’.  To repeat - I still consider that Wolfhounds bred in Ireland are in the best of hands and that Breeders do have their well-being foremost in their minds.

Again -  my thanks
Marjorie Saunders
